It is located on the same campus as the Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD) at Kotbari, 10 km south-east of Comilla district town. Kotbari is a very historical place. Shalban Bihar, one of the monuments of Buddhist civilization, is located here. This is Shalban Bihar. About 1200 years ago, this Kotbari was a stepping stone to the knowledge of Shalban Bihar. Today, even after 1200 years, Kotbari is equally famous in the country and abroad as one of the places to acquire education and knowledge. Bangladesh Cooperative Academy is definitely proud to be in such a historic place.
In order to achieve the goal of Bangladesh Cooperative Academy, specific responsibilities have to be fulfilled. The main task is to provide training. The Bangladesh Cooperative Academy and its 10 Regional Cooperative Institutes have been working tirelessly for the last few decades to provide training facilities to the members of the Cooperative Societies registered under the Cooperative Department, including the officers / employees of the Cooperative Department.
There are several facilities available in the cooperative academy for smooth management of training work. Since all the trainees of the academy are residential, there are two three-storey hostel buildings for the trainees where about 100 trainees can live together.
